At the end of May, MMYPEM successfully completed the project of the Shagaya Renewable Energy Park, being in charge of both the solar field assembly and the assembly of BOP and turbine equipment.

This thermosolar plant is located in the Shagaya Renewable Energy Park and is part of a 60 MW solar energy complex, consisting of a 50 MW thermosolar plant and a 10 MW photovoltaic plant.

It is located in the north of the country, in Al Yahra, a city 32 kilometers west from the capital of Kuwait (Kuwait City). In 2030 it will have a total installed capacity of 2,000 MW and is part of the Government’s plan to produce 15% of its total electricity needs through renewable energy sources.
