Last February MMYPEM successfully completed the start-up of the 3 emergency diesel engines of units 3 & 4 of the Mochovce nuclear power plant (Slovakia). Each motor has a generated power of 6 MW. The works carried out by MMYPEM were the commissioning of auxiliary systems, flushing, starting of the motors and operational tests.

The Mochovce 3&4 units have passed through a design evolution with a number of improvements evaluated and approved by Slovak and international experts, and meet all international nuclear safety standards.

At present the 1,760MW Mochovce nuclear power plant covers approximately 20% of the energy demand in Slovakia and helps reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
