In 2004, Siemens S.A. relied on MMYPEM for the mechanical commissioning part of the Palos de la Frontera Combined Cycle Power Plant, located in the municipality of Palos de la Frontera (Huelva), within the Nuevo Puerto Industrial Estate.

This plant is made up of three twin groups of 400 MW of power that use natural gas as the main fuel. The various groups of the installation started operating in phases during the period from the end of 2004 to the middle of 2005.

In the Combined Cycle Plant of Palos de la Frontera two cycles are combined: one of gas and one of steam, taking advantage of the thermal energy contained in the exhaust gases of the gas turbine to generate steam with sufficient energy to be exploited in a steam turbine.
